About the ESPG

The ESPG is a student society that's here to support postgraduate students and staff in Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

The ESPG was established as an GSA affiliated group to support postgraduate students in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. The committee is building on the tireless efforts of previous years' committees to continue to support students, staff and other Earth Science enthusiasts.

The ESPG run a range of events and services to provide social and academic support to students. In the past we have run Industry Panels, Trivia, morning teas and competitions.  See more details on our Events page.

We're here to support postgraduate students and provide opportunities.

The aims of the ESPG are:

  • To provide academic support and welfare to the postgraduates of the School.
  • To promote social interaction between all postgraduates within the School, the entire faculty and wider university community.
  • To foster communication of research ideas and collaborations.
  • To support the academic endeavors of postgraduate students and to act as a representative group of graduates within the School.
